This sounds like my kind of scene, Rick!! But I feel like all this is possibly a cover for not coming clean about whether or not you were IN FACT ALSO LOSING YOUR RELIGION.

Welcome aboard! Since you asked, I will come clean: just like R.E.M., my religion is lost and I've looked everywhere I can think of (under fridge, in the car, called my mom to ask if it's in the attic). There's only so much you can do, y'know?

(Also I just looked up the song's meaning and according to the singer it's not about losing actual religion but it's rather some sort of saying where you lose your temper? Singers are also so mysterious.)

lol I believe you! And I'm so sorry we had to involve your mom in this whole misunderstanding, maybe call her back and ask her to look for your temper instead.

That is a wild story! I always suspected Michael Stipe was hiding something up those super long sleeves.

It's all good. Face down for a week, then 6-8 weeks till my sight returns. This is a blip compared to other life challenges I've had. As my dear departed brother-inlaw used to say, this isn't what I planned but this is what I got. Acceptance is my super power 😊

Not rolling my eyes about your Emmy...that's awesome!

You snagged me as a subscriber because levity is good but yes, inbox can get overwhelming.

I'm face down recovering from surgery for a hole in my retina, but as soon as I am more mobile I may hit you up for tips about image size on Substack. Your question caught my eye. Peace out and looking forward to satire and levity.

Glad to have you aboard Marla! I’m looking forward to delivering on the levity and I hope you recover from the surgery quickly. I didn’t even know having a hole in the retina was a thing so…new fear unlocked. I know firsthand surgery recovery can be challenging so may yours be quick and painless!
